Consisting of beautiful female vocals by Mary Bettles. A jazz singer who has been working successfully in the music business for many years and has developed a soft melodic style perfectly suited to her role in this duo.

Keyboards and saxophone are provided by Tom Gwyther; also a seasoned jazz musician who's either playing smooth piano to glide effortlessly through the music, or, he's using his saxophone to augment and embellish the sound of Astoria's Lounge.

Somthing about Mary

Mary indulges in her love of music which spans, amateur and professional theatrical shows across the UK as both performer and musical director. Her voice has been developed through intense classical training in England by Oratorio singer Martin Elliott. He once commented on her extraordinary ability to hold long notes, a skill she developed as a bassoonist! She has been involved with choirs, big bands, orchestras and other groups since the age of eleven and has toured abroad as a chorister, soloist and bassoon player, entertaining many audiences across Europe, including a private function for the Mayor in Prague!

Mary studied jazz at the University of Chichester and it was there during a lunch-time concert that she was spotted by members of a local funk band "Mista Blista" who asked her to sing with them. One of those was none other than Tom Gwyther. The rest is history!

All About Tom

Brilliant is a word truly ascribed to this outstanding musician in every sense of the word. Tom started teaching himself to play piano at the age of seven and reached professional standard by the age of sixteen without the traditional limits of classical convention. He is now a regular cocktail pianist at top Marriot hotels and continues to impress audiences across the UK in various bands, such as the official tribute band for INXS.
Working with the UK producer for Elton John and eternal; he has acquired many skills in producing and promoting other acts. Tom arranges and records all the Astoria’s Lounge backing tracks.
Refreshingly free and fluent in style and confidence, Tom will take you on a wonderful musical journey where you have never been before, traveling first class all the way!
